Asia’s highest cable car is officially back in action after closing for 1 month
On May 25, 2026 a gearbox failure stranded 300+ tourists mid-air. All were rescued safely. Engineers from Poma replaced the gearbox, ran full tests.

The Gulmarg Gondola have two phases. Phase 1 from Gulmarg to Kongdoori (2,650 m) and Phase 2 from Kongdoori to Apharwat peak (3,980 m)
During the suspension period, affected bookings were eligible for refunds. Reconfirm ticket validity and updated schedules before rebooking.
Book online (counter closes 9 AM). Carry woolens. Arrive by 8 AM on weekends. Cancel 2 days early (50% fee). Both phases open—don’t skip Phase 2.
